T Ford LLC is the umbrella organization for the real estate acquisitions and developments of Tom Ford. A North Shore Massachusetts native, Tom has made a career of civil and environmental construction management projects, in parallel with investments and development of real estate. Tom’s academic training is in civil engineering and construction with a BS from Northeastern University, and an MS from Georgia Tech. Additional specialized study in real estate financing and development followed with an MS from the Center of Real Estate Development at MIT.
Tom founded T Ford Co. Inc., an earthwork and environmental contracting company in 1983 and later combined with Jack Enos, founder of Geo Construction. After several decades of challenging work, consistent growth, and great clients, Tom sold all his ownership interests in T Ford Co. Inc, to Jack in 2019. In 2023, Jack sold the company to two existing employees; business continues to grow and prosper.
Tom’s development projects were initially residential subdivisions, on which quality custom homes were constructed to establish the neighborhood look and feel. Tom has also developed self-storage projects, industrial buildings, and made some passive equity investments in larger student housing projects in Alabama, New York, Arizona, and St. Louis. He has recently completed construction of a 98,500 SF industrial building that is leased to a Nasdaq listed global tech manufacturer. Currently, he is working on a multi – family project and a large-scale industrial warehouse. Both are on the north shore of MA.
Some equity investments in private, non-real estate businesses followed primarily with firms managed by friends and family.
Real Estate purchased has included both raw land and underdeveloped buildings and residences. Sellers included municipalities, family trusts, individuals, bank OREO properties, and religious and university surplus. Specific emphasis on entitlements, zoning, financial, and environmental aspects allow T Ford LLC to maximize value and reposition properties.
Tom is ably assisted by several architects, engineers, legal, and accounting professionals, as well as some immediate family members. Heather Ford manages the office and risk management aspects of the projects. Teri Ford, also a MIT Real Estate Alum, assists in acquisition, financial projections, and leasing. Molly Beck takes care of marketing and social media.
Tom was formerly a long-term Trustee of Danvers Bank, subsequently acquired by Peoples Bank. Additionally, he served for over 20 years on the Care Dimensions Board, the successor organization to the Hospice of the North Shore. Tom was the Trustee responsible for the construction of two in-patient residences in Massachusetts. Tom enjoys stock trading, landscaping, and his grandchildren.
